Requesting Immediate Action for the Renewal of the Office for the Prevention of Deafness and Hearing Impairment

Share:

The Coalition for Global Hearing Health (CGHH) is requesting immediate action to join other prominent international organizations in a consortium to raise necessary funds for the renewal of the Office for the Prevention of Deafness and Hearing Impairment (PDH) for 2014-2016. The PDH, currently led by Dr. Shelly Chadha, plays a critical role in bringing issues of ear and hearing health to the table in the broader context of global health policy. Over the last 18 months, WHO staff at PDH have been extremely effective, increasing awareness of and working to improve services for the prevention and treatment of hearing loss globally.

Currently, the WHO PDH relies exclusively on external funding. Immediate action is necessary to maintain the PDH office at WHO. If sufficient funds are not secured by October 1, 2013, this position will likely be lost permanently.

Please join our campaign to raise funds to support this vital WHO post. Whether you donate one dollar or a thousand dollars, all donations are significant. Our goal is not only to raise the funds but also to demonstrate to the WHO and other donors that there is widespread support for this position. Thank you for time and attention to this important issue.

To donate please follow this link. We would love it if you would also send us message to Webmaster@coalitionforglobalhearinghealth.org so we can record your giving and provide you feedback in the future.
