03.03.2007, New York, USA - From March 2nd to 4th, the Vienna Philharmonic's concert tour took the
Hear the World ambassadors to Carnegie Hall in New York.
Hear the World used this extraordinary event to further create awareness for the topic of hearing and hearing loss. While the world renowned orchestra rehearsed with conductor Daniel Barenboim and pianist Lang Lang inside, the
Hear the World team, in cooperation with the League for the Hard of Hearing, conducted hearing examinations in a truck parked outside Carnegie Hall on Seventh Avenue. Flyers with information on the dangers of loud noise and tips on preventing and correcting hearing loss were handed out on the streets, while attendees of the three Vienna Philharmonic concerts received the first issue of the
Hear the World magazine.
Hear the World, in partnership with WNYC, National Public Radio's local affiliate, also distributed tickets to Saturday's private Vienna Philharmonic rehearsal to ten listeners and their guests.
