‘The Listening Child What Can Go Wrong’ looks at hearing problems with struggling students.
KITCHENER, Ontario – Having written numerous publications over auditory problems in the classroom, Stephen V. Prescod utilizes over 20 years of professional experience to pen an easy-to-follow explanation of auditory processing disorders for parents and educators in “The Listening Child What Can Go Wrong: What All Parents and Teachers Need to Know about the Struggle to Survive in Today’s Noisy Classrooms” (published by Trafford Publishing).
Prescod takes the reader into the world of struggling students and the flabbergasted educators who are having trouble ascertaining why an anxious parent’s student is doing poorly in his or her class. He cautions parents and educators to beware of the auditory system, because it can impact a student’s ability to learn if damaged.
He looks at many different types of auditory disorders throughout “The Listening Child What Can Go Wrong”. Prescod takes the normally technical explanations of auditory disorders and breaks them down into easy to digest pieces.
An excerpt from “The Listening Child What Can Go Wrong”:
“These obstacles need to be identified, isolated and remediated. When they are, the child will listen and learn with amazing faculty. When they are not, the child develops poor self-esteem and his subaverage academic performances are inextricably interrelating and form an integral part of his/her overall developmental delay. Management strategies must ne focused on rebuilding self-confidence from an image that has been shattered by a revolving cycle of relentless failure.”
