New FM benchmark, SmartLink SX, offers a higher level of integrated wireless communication.
The latest FM innovation from Phonak, SmartLink SX, integrates three solutions into one instrument. It is the first communication device to incorporate an advanced FM transmitter, a remote control, plus breakthrough technology that links it directly with the latest Bluetooth cell phones. SmartLink allows individuals with a hearing loss to use the same communication tools as people with normal hearing, while enabling convenient and rewarding communication in the most difficult listening environments.
Cell phone use made easy
SmartLink by Phonak eliminates the common difficulties experienced by hearing instrument wearers when using cell phones. Integrated Bluetooth technology in SmartLink creates a two-way digital link between the wearers' hearing instruments and their Bluetooth cellular phones. All incoming calls are directed automatically via SmartLink to MicroLink receivers that are attached to the hearing instrument. Users only need their cell phone to dial outgoing calls. Should wearers be using another audio input, such as listening to music, SmartLink gives incoming phone calls priority. The other audio signal is decreased automatically so that the user hears the ringing tone clearly and can take or reject the call.
Smart technology all-round
The three-phase signal recognition and digital audio processing strategy in SmartLink represent the key to natural, crystal-clear sound. SmartLink also integrates a new digital AudioZoom feature developed specifically for use in FM transmitters. Digital SuperZoom2 ensures that wearers only hear what they want to hear and preserves the low frequencies that are so important for people with hearing loss. The proven digital Fine-scale Noise Canceler by Phonak supports the effective reduction of background noise and digital voice enhancement optimizes the perceived loudness of the FM signal transmitted.
The Unique Phonak digital synthesizer technology enables online and automatic frequency synchronization between the SmartLink and the MicroLink, and frequency scanning in the MicroLink receivers.
The gateway to convenience
Remote control capability in SmartLink facilitates discreet control of all hearing instrument functions. SmartLink has a compact, high-tech design and the function symbols are easy to see on the large, multifunction LCD. The clever two-sided design enables one side to be reserved for advanced FM functions and the other for extended communication including remote control, Bluetooth cellular telephone use and frequency management. An intelligent energy management system also enables fast charging of the state-of-the-art lithium ion battery.
