WARRENVILLE, IL - August 28, 2012 - Phonak LLC has announced the appointment of Jeffrey Newnham as President of Phonak LLC, effective immediately. Jeff has over 30 years of experience in sales, marketing and general management in the ophthalmic (eye care) industry. He comes to Phonak from Alcon, a global leader in eye care owned by Novartis, where he has been working in various roles since 1997.
His most recent assignment was Vice President, Europe, Middle East and Africa. In this position, he was responsible for direct sales organizations in many of the larger countries in Europe as well as sales through distributors in Africa and Central Asia. After the acquisition of Alcon by Novartis, he was responsible for integrating three independent commercial organizations - Alcon, CibaVision and Novartis Ophthalmics.
Previously, Jeff was Vice President, US Refractive. In this role, he was responsible for the commercial operations of US Refractive business while also leading the integration of the WaveLight acquisition into the global Alcon commercial, R&D and manufacturing infrastructure. Before that, he was President of Canada for Alcon.
Jeff holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics from the McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada. He is married and has three adult children.
