Following the success of Oliver Gets Hearing Aids, this new 44-page book tells the story of how Oliver the elephant perfects his communication skills by adding a wireless FM communication system to his hearing instruments.
This new Oliver Gets FM book is the ideal tool for explaining the benefits of FM technology to children with and without hearing loss, as well as parents and teachers. The book describes situations that are important to Oliver the elephant and show how supplying Oliver with a Phonak FM system can eliminate the obstacles of distance and noise. The plot reveals that the new technology can lead to such results as better school reports, the ability to use the telephone more effectively - even being able to hear someone at the other end of the hallway.
The book was written by Maureen Cassidy Riski, a pediatric audiologist. She uses everyday situations at home, school and play to present easily understandable descriptions of FM technology in action. Readers learn that using an FM system can dramatically improve speech understanding in difficult listening environments, such as classrooms, playgrounds and telephone.
