Stäfa, Switzerland, 2nd April 2008 - Phonak fulfills a longstanding dream of hearing care professionals around the globe - fitting without programming cables! As the first company to offer the ultimate in fitting freedom, Phonak introduces iCube, an incredible new fitting tool that harnesses the wireless functionality of the CORE platform to allow fast and stable fitting interface, completely cable-free.
Phonak proudly launches, for the first time ever, a completely cable-free fitting system with a new programming interface called iCube. Thanks to the breakthrough broadband wireless capability of the CORE platform, hearing care professionals now have the option to use iCube to fit hearing instruments hassle free, without any programming cables. Fitting data is transmitted via Bluetooth from the fitting computer to iCube and then streamed from iCube to the hearing instruments. For clinical environments where Bluetooth transmission is not permitted, iCube can also be connected to the computer via USB cable. The integrated rechargeable battery and the dedicated charging station ensure that iCube is always ready to use.
The elimination of fitting cables enhances the fitting experience for both hearing care professionals and their clients. With a weight of only 40g, iCube is comfortable and unobtrusive. By reducing effort at finding and untangling programming cables, iCube allows hearing care professionals more time to devote to the needs of the client.
Cable-free fitting with iCube is an option for all new CORE platform products including Exélia and Naída. A convenient new tool, iCube reduces fitting time and makes the entire experience of hearing instrument fitting more pleasurable for both the client and the professional. In short, iCube heralds a new era in hearing instrument fitting.
