Phonak is excited to expand the Junior Mode by adding printable, tailored materials for parents, caregivers and teachers. An invaluable counseling support, the Junior reports provide the necessary information needed to understand the child's hearing loss and their hearing system.

Benefits:

  1. Pediatric hearing care professionals can easily provide individualized information to parents, caregivers and teachers

  2. Keeps the multidisciplinary team up-to-date with the child's latest hearing test results and hearing instrument/FM settings

  3. Child's name, date of birth, hearing instruments and serial numbers are visible on each report

  4. Easily accessible in the iPFG Junior Mode (2.1 and upwards) via the print icon in the top toolbar

  5. Broad range of topics are covered:

  • Hearing System Passport for Parents: provides personalized information on the child's hearing loss, inserting the hearing instruments, child-specific hearing instrument/remote control instructions, FM systems and communication tips.

  • Hearing System Passport for Teachers: written specifically with teachers in mind, this report provides the same personalized information as the Passport for Parents.

  • Communication Tips and Strategies for Parents: provides parents with advice on communicating effectively with their hearing impaired child and ways to help improve speech and language.

  • SoundRecover Information for Parents (Non-Linear Frequency Compression): written by Danielle Glista at the University of Western Ontario, this report provides a parent-friendly explanation of SoundRecover, tips on listening checks and some frequently asked questions.

  • SoundRecover Information for Teachers (Non-Linear Frequency Compression): written once again by Danielle Glista in teacher-friendly language, this report provides the same useful information as the SoundRecover information for parents.

  • FM System Information for Parents: explains the benefits of FM technology, the use of FM systems at different ages and gives details of the child's specific FM system.

  • FM System Information for Teachers: provides information on the benefits of FM technology, tips on using FM and details of the child's specific FM system.

  • Additional Junior reports are planned for the next iPFG release, including information on speech, language and listening development and many more!
The Junior Reports are part of the iPFG Junior Mode, which offers a one-click pediatric fitting configuration. With every new iPFG release you can look forward to more pediatric features to make fittings more accurate, efficient and family friendly.
