Company Expanding Audiology and Customer Service Staff.

Schaumburg, IL.- November 27, 2012 – GN Otometrics, the world leader in hearing and balance diagnostic systems, announced today that the company is expanding its audiology and customer service departments due to sustained growth and a strong product pipeline. The expansion of these key departments will provide additional support to its growing customer base, underscoring Otometrics’ commitment to excellent customer care.

Other contributors to the company’s sustained growth trend include an upgraded distribution network and favorable response to new products like the MADSEN AccuScreen newborn hearing screener, ICS AirCal caloric irrigator and the AURICAL fitting system. A robust Quality Assurance program resulted in Otometrics recent decision to offer a two year warranty on all new purchases.

“The feedback we are getting from customers about our new products and the new distribution model has been overwhelmingly positive,” commented Dan McNulty, general manager at GN Otometrics.  “Customers like that our products are modern and intuitive - designed by health care professionals for health care professionals. The fact that we now have a sales and service team who act in a more consultative fashion has been very well received. Together, these factors allow our customers to spend more quality time with their patients, and less time troubleshooting in the clinic. This foundational work has translated to solid business growth.”

To support this growth, Otometrics is adding to its audiology and customer service staff. The company hired Keeley Moore, M.A., CCC/A, as a clinical support audiologist, and Nikki Pierce as an inside sales/customer service representative.

As clinical support audiologist, Ms. Moore will act as client liaison for product support as well as offer clinical education and training. Moore will report to Karen Morris, M.S., CCC/A, manager, audiology services at Otometrics. Moore has more than 15 years of experience as a practicing audiologist. She joined Otometrics from the Illinois Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Program, where she was an audiological consultant.  While there, she played a key role in training and supporting lay hearing screeners, which included teaching OAE hearing screening courses and leading practicum for lay screeners.  Prior to that position, Moore was a clinical and educational audiologist with a non-profit speech and hearing clinic. In that position, she served a diverse patient population and performed pediatric through geriatric behavioral audiometric assessment and implemented habilitation and rehabilitation services.  She also performed hearing aid and FM selection, fitting, verification and management. Additionally, Moore counseled and taught advocacy skills to parents, students and professionals, among many other responsibilities. Moore has also worked in ENT clinics and hospital environments and is skilled in a broad spectrum of audiology and vestibular practices.

“Keeley is an extremely experienced and professional audiologist who brings strong clinical skills to Otometrics,” said Morris.  “Her experience in the clinic makes her exceptionally qualified to understand and anticipate the needs of our customers.  She is an excellent addition to our staff.” Moore served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1985 through 1990, as a non-commissioned officer. She holds a B.A. in speech and hearing sciences from Indiana University, earning her Masters in Audiology from The Ohio State University. She holds a certificate of clinical competence and is certified by the American Board of Audiology.
