This month's AudiologyOnline content covers important issues in a broad range of topic areas. Whether you see mainly children or mainly seniors, and whether you work in a private practice, VA hospital, school or other setting, you'll find new courses and information relevant to your daily work.
Speech Recognition Testing in Children
The September 20Q with Gus Mueller article and text course features guest author Dr. Andrea Hillock-Dunn from Vanderbilt University, on the topic of speech recognition testing in children. The article discusses the reasons/rationale for speech testing in kids, how to select appropriate tests, and considerations for testing to ensure the results are both valid and clinically useful. As with all 20Q articles, it has an engaging conversational style while at the same time covering an important area of practice. Read the full article here.
New Recorded Series: Apps!
Our August apps series is now available as a series of recorded courses. The 4-hours of CEU content covers the use of apps in audiology in the diagnostics and treatment of hearing and hearing loss for both children and adults. Here are a few comments from the course evaluations: "Tons of useful information to use with my patients!"; "Wonderful information condensed in an accessible way!", and "Great info on a topic I knew very little about." View the courses here.
ICD-10 is Coming! ICD-10 is Coming!
Have no fear, AudiologyOnline is here! Dr. Kim Cavitt has put together both a webinar and a text course (same material - different formats) to help you and your colleagues get up to speed on the new coding that goes into effect October 1, 2010. Both course formats are free to view, so we encourage you to share the links with your billing office or anyone else who needs to get in the know.
Fall Pediatric Focus
This fall, we'll be supplementing our course library with some new courses on emerging issues in pediatrics. I'm so excited about the topics and presenters we have lined up and will share more in next month's newsletter.
As always, thanks for reading! Have a fantastic September.
Cheers,
Carolyn
