King of Prussia, PA -- November 10, 2005 -- OTOVATION today announced a licensing agreement with Dr. Robert Margolis and Audiology Incorporated for the automated testing method known as AMTAS. AMTAS, for Automated Method for Testing Auditory Sensitivity, is a patented and clinically proven method for automated pure-tone threshold testing with validated quality indicators.
According to Dave Davis, President of OTOVATION, "The AMTAS method that Dr. Margolis and his colleagues have developed is an important new way to ensure accurate and efficient testing. We believe that automated methods will enhance the efficiency of audiometric testing, and we are pleased to be working with Dr. Margolis to promote and offer this exciting technology. We are developing industry-specific products for primary care and occupational health testing based on the AMTAS method, and will bring these new products to market beginning in the first half of 2006."
Dr. Margolis added, "OTOVATION is an ideal partner for bringing the AMTAS method and technology to the primary care and occupational health markets. Their innovative approach and growing reputation as a developer of quality audiometry products helps ensure that the AMTAS testing model reaches the market effectively. Automated air-conduction testing is ideally suited to these markets, and we're looking forward to seeing the first of these products reach the market."
OTOVATION is now developing products that utilize the AMTAS method, and additional information will be provided as the products near commercial readiness.
