Somerset, NJ, January 2004 - Leading hearing aid manufacturer Oticon, Inc. has produced a new edition of Sound Advice. This glossy, high-quality magazine is designed to educate people with hearing loss and their families on the benefits of professional hearing care and advanced digital hearing solutions. Sound Advice will be distributed by hearing care professionals to already identified and prospective clients as part of a targeted relationship marketing campaign. The new magazine is the second national run for Sound Advice, following the highly successful run of the first edition.

"We know that today's consumers, especially Baby Boomers, like to amass a great deal of information before making purchase decision," explains Gordon Wilson, VP of Marketing for Oticon, Inc. "With Sound Advice, hearing care professionals can provide comprehensive information in an easy-to-read context that entertains while it educates."

The new issue of Sound Advice features a cover story on the former Miss Washington and her experience with hearing aids, survey reports on the effect of hearing loss, quick assessment tests and quizzes. Articles focus on such topics as improving family communication and working successfully with a hearing care professional, and include practical "how-to" advice on choosing a hearing aid color and developing good communications habits.

"Our goal is to provide hearing care professionals with the tools they need to develop successful relationships with their clients," notes Wilson. "We believe that by empowering consumers with knowledge about hearing care and today's advanced technology solutions, we can motivate them to seek help and fully participate in the selection process. Our experience tells us this participation is key to a successful solution and a satisfied client."
