Christensen joined Oticon A/S in 1990 and was a key member of the pioneering team that brought DigiFocus, the first ear-level fully digital hearing instrument, successfully to market. Prior to joining Oticon, Christensen worked in technology and product development at Ødegaard & Danneskiold-Samsøe and Danish Micro Engineering.
In 2007, Christensen moved to Brüel & Kjær Sound, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of sound and vibration solutions, where he served as Vice President of R&D before returning to Oticon A/S in 2008.

Christensen holds a M.Sc. in electrical engineering from the Danish Technical University.
