Oticon "Pink with a Purpose" Campaign Aims to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness and Research Support

Share:
Somerset, NJ August 12 - In October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Oticon, Inc. will launch its fourth national campaign to support breast cancer education and research initiatives that are making a positive difference for women and their families in communities around the world. The 2011 Oticon "Pink with a Purpose" campaign will feature Oticon Think Pink Agil, a special edition pink hearing device in the Agil portfolio of sleek, modern design, high performance hearing solutions. During October, Oticon will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Think Pink Agil and all Agil hearing devices to the National Breast Cancer Coalition to support breast cancer awareness and research.

"All of us know someone - a mother, daughter, sister, grandmother or friend who has endured this terrible disease," says Sheena Oliver, AuD, Vice President of Marketing for Oticon, Inc. "I believe that is why the 'Pink with a Purpose' campaign resonates so powerfully with hearing care practitioners and their clients. For many of our hearing care partners, it is another way for them to educate and empower patients to take charge of their hearing health and at the same time, to support research to find a cure."

New audiological concepts in Think Pink Agil and all instruments in the Agil family are designed to preserve the natural characteristics of speech while enriching the sound quality to enable the brain to use fewer of its resources for listening purposes. By minimizing the cognitive energy expended in typical listening situations, Agil empowers users to communicate more freely, interact more naturally and participate more actively in everyday life. The hearing solution's robust portfolio of styles and colors gives people with hearing loss the opportunity to choose the performance they need and the modern design they want ll while supporting a deserving cause.

Oticon will promote Think Pink Agil with a range of "Pink with a Purpose" marketing communications materials including ads, newspaper inserts, postcards and desktop displays. The company also encourages hearing care professionals and their clients to participate in the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" noncompetitive walks that will take place in cities across the country in October. For the fourth year in a row, a team of Oticon employees, wearing Think Pink Agil t-shirts, will travel from the company's Somerset, New Jersey headquarters to New York City's Central Park to participate in one of country's largest American Cancer Society walks.
