Practitioners Use Social Networking to Engage and Educate Consumers in Local Markets.
SOMERSET, NJ August 5 –Oticon, Inc. is proud to again support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the launch of the sixth annual Oticon “Pink with a Purpose” campaign. The national campaign promotes hearing health and breast cancer awareness and raises funds to support lifesaving research. During September and October, Oticon, Inc. will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the special edition Alta Think Pink and the entire Alta family to the National Breast Cancer Coalition to support breast cancer research. This year, the campaign will expand social media components to create new opportunities for practitioners to engage and educate consumers in their local markets.
“Our professional partners tell us that they welcome the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to community health and wellness through the Pink with a Purpose program,” says Oticon Peer Lauritsen. “The campaign gives new and existing clients an added incentive to choose a premium hearing solution and, at the same time, support a deserving cause. For practitioners, the campaign creates another opportunity to engage consumers with relevant information that benefits them and helps to build practice visibility and loyalty.”
Hearing care professionals are invited to spread the word by checking out Oticon’s Think Pink Facebook page at Facebook.com/OticonThinkPink. “We encourage practitioners to like our page and learn how they can support the campaign in their local communities,” said Senior Marketing Manager Nancy Palmere. “They can also help to expand reach of the program by tagging us in their posts and sharing their posts with clients, friends, family and anyone in the community who might benefit from information on hearing health and breast cancer awareness.” New postings will be added throughout the campaign to maintain the momentum and provide hearing care professionals with positive, awareness-building messages to share with their social networks. Special Think Pink prizes will be available on the site throughout the campaign.
In addition to the strong social networking elements, Oticon will promote Alta Think Pink with a range of Pink with a Purpose marketing communications materials including newspaper ads, inserts, postcards and desktop displays. Customized press releases and direct mail invitations will further extend and reinforce targeted outreach throughout their communities.
Hearing care professionals and their staffs are also encouraged to show their support by wearing special design Think Pink t-shirts and participating in local noncompetitive Breast Cancer walks that will take place in cities across the country in October.
In October, Oticon will host a special Think Pink day celebration at the company’s Somerset headquarters where medical staff from the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital will be on hand to provide breast health and wellness advice. Oticon employees will also be signing up to participate as a team in a local Breast Cancer fundraising walk.
