SOMERSET, NJ  February 20 – Oticon, Inc. donated a pair of hearing instruments to Maranda Hayes to replace the hearing devices the high school student lost when her home was destroyed following the fertilizer plant explosion in West, Texas.  Carrie Caviness, AuD, professor of Audiology at Baylor University, fitted 16-year-old Maranda with a pair of Agil Pro miniRites at the Baylor University Audiology Clinic. Maranda also received an Oticon Streamer Pro, ConnectLine TV Adaptor and Microphone. Marada and her mother, Nickole Hayes, were overwhelmed that the hearing device manufacturer would provide such a generous and much-needed gift.  “Please thank everyone at Oticon for providing my daughter with this incredible gift.  We are so very grateful,” said Nickole. The Hayes family lost their home in the 2013 blast that devastated their hometown in northern central Texas.  Oticon launched a two-tier response to the disaster with a $10,000 to the American Red Cross and support for Oticon hearing care partners to provide hearing care and hearing instruments to people directly impacted by the disaster.
