Annual Campaign Promotes Hearing Health and Breast Cancer Awareness.

SOMERSET, NJ  August 17 – This year, Oticon, Inc. celebrates 10 years of support for breast cancer awareness and life-saving research.  Since 2007, the national “Hear in Pink” campaign has delivered compelling messages about hearing health and breast cancer awareness and at the same time, helped to raise more than $100,000 to support non-profit breast cancer organizations.  The 2017 “Hear in Pink” campaign will benefit the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC). During September and October, Oticon will donate a portion of all sales of the special edition pink Oticon Opn™ and all Oticon Opn hearing aids to NBCC to help find a cure for the most common cancer in American women. Oticon will again partner with hearing care professionals to engage and educate consumers in local communities through specially designed “Hear in Pink” media outreach and social media components.

“The ‘Hear in Pink’ campaign gives consumers a compelling incentive to choose all-round better hearing with Oticon Opn and, at the same time, support a deserving cause,” says Oticon Vice President of Marketing Sheena Oliver.  “For the past decade, this annual campaign has created a unique opportunity for hearing care professionals to demonstrate their commitment to community health and wellness and build practice visibility and loyalty. For everyone, ‘Hear in Pink’ is an opportunity to show support for the individuals, families and friends who are touched by a disease that represents one of every three cancers diagnosed in women.”

In addition to the strong social networking elements, Oticon will promote the special edition pink Oticon Opn™ with a range of “Hear in Pink” marketing materials including newspaper ads, inserts, and desktop displays.  Hearing care professionals will help to spread hearing health and breast cancer awareness messages with customized press releases, direct mail invitations and social media posts that extend and reinforce outreach to their local community.

“We encourage hearing care professionals to like our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/OticonProfessionalsUS) to learn how they can support the ‘Hear in Pink’ campaign in their local communities,” says Nancy Palmere, Director of Consumer Marketing and PR.   “We’ll help maintain the momentum throughout September and October, adding new postings that provide practitioners with positive, awareness-building messages to share with their social networks.”

Hearing care professionals and their staffs are invited to show their support by wearing special design “Hear in Pink” t-shirts and participating in local Breast Cancer walks that take place in cities across the country in September and October.

Oticon will host a “Hear in Pink” celebration at the Somerset headquarters where staff from a local medical center will be on hand to provide breast health and wellness advice. Oticon employees will again walk as a team in a NY/NJ area breast cancer fundraising walk. In 10 years, rain or shine, Oticon employees have logged nearly 100 miles to show their support for breast cancer awareness.
