"The main purpose of this release is to allow NOAHlink to be installed on Windows Vista," stated Arild Rasmussen, Product Manager. In addition, the new software contains several minor changes to simplify and improve NOAHlink installation. For example, the new and improved pairing wizard can be run separately from the installation - directly from the Windows Start menu.NOAHlink software version 1.53.01 will begin shipping with all new NOAHlinks starting in August or September.
In the meantime, if you own a NOAHlink and wish to install it on Windows Vista, simply download the version 1.53 software from our website, double-click and follow the instructions to install your NOAHlink.
Last but not least, version 3.6 is compatible with Windows Vista operating system, as well as with most major anti- virus software solutions.
Who Should Upgrade?
Version 3.6 is especially designed for NOAH users with network installations or large amounts of client data. However, HIMSA recommends that all NOAH users consider an upgrade.
"Many NOAH System users are happy with their current version of NOAH, and may be reluctant to upgrade," said Munksgaard. "However, version 3.6 will provide them with a number of important performance improvements that are well worth the upgrade."
Please keep in mind that HIMSA only supports and tests the latest versions of the NOAH System software, versions 3.5.2 and 3.6.1. By upgrading, you also help ensure that the fitting and measurement modules you rely on will continue to be tested for compatibility with NOAH, long into the future.
A New NOAH Computer?
Chances are that NOAH System 3.6 can be installed on your current NOAH computer. However, just to be on the safe side, we suggest that you view the NOAH 3.6 minimum requirements on our website. In particular, it is important to keep in mind that Windows 98 and Me operating systems are no longer supported by NOAH System.
Also, HIMSA has not begun the process of certifying NOAH modules for Windows Vista, and many modules may not be Windows Vista compatible. For this reason, HIMSA continues to recommend that you use Windows XP with service pack 2 as your computer operating system.
