Schaumburg, Ill., April 4, 2006 - GN Otometrics, the world leader in hearing and balance diagnostic systems, is introducing the MADSEN Xeta™ audiometer. MADSEN Xeta provides fast, efficient testing, a short learning curve, and advanced patient handling. It features air, bone and masking; an intuitive layout; flexible storage and PC connectivity. MADSEN Xeta was designed to be equally efficient in the clinic or in the field.
"MADSEN Xeta is an important addition to our hearing assessment product portfolio," said Soren Holst, president of GN Otometrics. "It addresses the needs of fundamental audiometry by providing quick, efficient testing and a level of flexibility that makes the clinician's job easier."
MADSEN Xeta offers auto threshold and auto screening allowing for fast and easy testing while adhering to professional standards. A masking assistant feature alerts users whenever masking is recommended at specific frequencies; this ensures valid, high-quality test results. Switching between test scenarios is quick and secure with user-configurable, single-button settings.
With its one-button, one-function operation, the layout and functions of MADSEN Xeta are intuitive and simple to learn; there are no hidden functions and virtually no training is required. Its user-friendly design features indicator lights that provide an at-a-glance overview of the current setting.
The MADSEN Xeta facilitates the management of planned patients. The audiometer links smoothly to a PC and allows for transfer of name and identification for scheduled patients. By pre-loading the audiometer, patients are securely identified for testing, reviewing and documentation.
Flexible data handling is another key feature of MADSEN Xeta that makes it state-of-the art within fundamental audiometry. It has a storage capacity of 50 scheduled patients and 75 full audiograms; as a result it can handle intensive testing. Its advanced memory function allows scrolling of the pre-loaded patient list; test results may be browsed or resumed at any time, opening for a fully and flexible work flow.
The MADSEN Xeta is sleek and lightweight, making it portable and ideal for field work. It is equally functional in a clinic setting when paired with OTOsuite Audiometry software, allowing data to be viewed on a PC.
The MADSEN Xeta will begin shipping to customers in the second quarter of this year; the OTOsuite Audiometry software will be available in the third quarter of this year.
