The special section includes articles that present personal perspectives on newborn hearing screening, cochlear implants, balance disorders, smell disorders, voice disorders, and other related topics. The cover story includes an interview with author Lee Woodruff, wife of ABC news anchor and reporter Bob Woodruff, who suffered a traumatic brain injury in Iraq. Ms. Woodruff offers a candid view of how the family has been able to cope with Mr. Woodruff's injury and also the hearing loss of their daughter, Nora.
