GN Otometrics to Debut System at AAA
SCHAUMBURG, Ill., March 29, 2006 - GN Otometrics, the world leader in hearing and balance diagnostic systems, will debut the ICS™ Chartr 200 VNG/ENG at the American Academy of Audiology's 18th Annual Convention and Expo in Minneapolis, Minn., next month. An addition to the well-known and respected portfolio of ICS balance-assessment products, the ICS Chartr 200 VNG/ENG is compact and portable, offers all traditional vestibular functionalities and a wealth of features including remote use, an Interpretation Assistant™, a unique diagnostic algorithm and a flexible goggles design with fixation light. The system is one of the few VNG/ENG systems that combine with EP, allowing integrated collection of VEMPs.
"ICS Chartr 200 VNG/ENG is a robust and comprehensive system developed by the company that invented VNG," said Soren Holst, president of GN Otometrics. "We drew upon our extensive experience to design a system for today's clinic environment that combines the two most important the tests - video and electronystagmography - in a single convenient design."
One of the most exciting features of ICS Chartr 200 VNG/ENG is its one-of-a-kind Interpretation Assistant, built on a unique diagnostic algorithm developed specifically for GN Otometrics by leading industry researchers. Based on extensive clinical studies, the Interpretation Assistant supports the user in making comfortable diagnoses and accurate test interpretations. It is very easy to use and is driven by drop down menus. The Interpretation Assistant provides an unambiguous presentation of findings that is easily transferred to patient records or communicated to a referral source. Its diagnostic algorithm allows easy interpretation and report generation.
"The Interpretation Assistant in the ICS Chartr 200 VNG/ENG is an extremely important and innovative addition to our portfolio of vestibular testing capabilities," said Holst. "We worked very closely with some of the profession's leading balance experts to develop this exceptionally sound and functional tool. It is the result of years of clinical expertise and studies; clinicians can use it with confidence and know the advice they are receiving is firmly rooted in science."
ICS Chartr 200 VNG/ENG was developed to support the workflow of the clinic by offering real portability, with its truly compact design and laptop compatibility. ICS Chartr 200 VNG/ENG's remote control feature frees the user from the computer and allows closer contact with the patient. GN Otometrics offers a combination system that allows for incorporation of EP, creating one full-service system.
The complete test battery and library of test protocols for custom tests allow for advanced diagnostic testing. And with the familiar Windows® interface, integrated software and shared databases, all traditional capabilities for securing data and consolidating patient records are readily available.
With its sleek design and coordinating goggles, ICS Chartr 200 VNG/ENG is an attractive addition to the clinic. The flexible goggles design offers a built-in fixation light, and both monocular and binocular camera options. Its automatic video adjustment eliminates the need to manually adjust the camera's focus on the eyes; with one click, the eyes are automatically adjusted.
ICS Chartr 200 VNG/ENG was demonstrated live at the GN Otometrics booth at AAA. It will begin shipping in the first half of this year.
