Local Residents Encouraged to Participate in Trials for the Advancement of Hearing Aid Technology
Chicago, September 10, 2005 - Chicago-area residents will soon have the opportunity to participate in state-of-the-art hearing aid research trials, and test the latest in hearing aids and auditory technology - thanks to the launch of the new GN Technology Center in Glenview, Illinois. Consumer trials taking place in the Technology Center represent the final stage in the development of a new hearing aid or product technology prior to being introduced to the worldwide market.
"We are excited to have local-area residents be a part of the trials held in our new facility," says Laurel Christensen, Vice President of Research Audiology, Research and Development for GN Resound Group. "Those who participate will have the opportunity to test the latest technology in hearing aids, and the satisfaction of making a generous contribution to the advancement of auditory health care technology."
The group's facilities include the Audiology Clinic, a high-tech, spacious environment consisting of four large fitting suites and three acoustically defined test sound booths; and the GN Auditory Research Laboratory, one of the most globally advanced auditory research centers of its kind. The focus of the research team is to generate innovative research solutions that provide benefit and comfort for hearing impaired individuals and support the development of these research solutions into end user products.
