New Fitting Solution From GN Otometrics Has Generated Excitement at AudiologyNOW! and After

The new AURICAL, the worlds only complete, modular fitting solution, puts clients in focus, and makes the fitting experience more comfortable and easier to understand. It was launched at this year's AudiologyNOW! in Chicago where it drew a lot of attention - and generated much excitement.

"Reactions ranged from enthusiastic to,' fantastic!' We're happy to have hit the bull's eye. We talked to many dispensers and audiologists during the design process for the new AURICAL - but the real moment of truth comes when you reveal a new product at a big event like AudiologyNOW!. People are eager to get their hands on the new device"
, states Søren Holst, President of GN Otometrics. The AURICAL is FDA cleared and ready for broad market release, August 1st.

A bridge between client and professional

"It's common knowledge that it can take as long as seven years for people with a hearing loss to seek treatment. When they do, it's crucial that their first experience with a hearing care professional is a good one, so they stay the course," says, Peter Kossek, Sr. Product Manager, Otometrics, "The new AURICAL helps hearing care professionals provide clients with an excellent fitting experience, an appropriate first fit and, ultimately, the treatment they need. That and the fact that it's a complete, modular fitting solution caught the interest of many of the people who visited our booth."

Fewer returns, fewer hearing aids "in the drawer"

One of the reasons that the new AURICAL provides such a positive fitting experience is its array of built-in counseling tools. For example, simulators, speech mapping and a Feature-to-Benefit tool help clients (and their families) understand their own hearing loss and feel involved in the fitting process. They also help professionals identify and find solutions to client challenges.

"The importance of client understanding and realistic expectations can't be emphasized enough in relation to providing the kind of successful, accurate fittings that ultimately result in fewer returns and fewer hearing aids that end up in the drawer," says Kossek. "Those who have tested the new AURICAL say that being able to actually show clients what's going on - instead of expecting clients to take their word for it - is a powerful tool."

A professional, friendly impression

Because the new AURICAL supports smooth, efficient audiometry, it helps hearing care professionals make an impression of confidence and professionalism that clients appreciate. For example, single tasks can be replaced by convenient customized sequential processes and practical FitAssist tools make fitting faster and easier for professionals and more comfortable and convincing for clients.

In addition, because the new AURICAL is modular, it can be positioned unobtrusively. It never becomes a physical barrier between client and hearing care professional, and its appearance is unintimidating, which adds to client comfort and confidence. "They love the fact that it's both all-in-one and compact and that it can be placed on a wall mount arm and push it out of their way when they're not using it. At the same time it can be put back into an operational position instantly," says Peter Kossek.
