Interacoustics has just released the BRU™ Balance Rehabilitation Unit™. The BRU™ enables healthcare professionals to perform functional assessment, focused treatment, and rehabilitation therapy for patients suffering from balance disorders. 
A force platform is used to identify the areas of weakness for the specific patient, and subsequently interactive exercises can be designed for each patient in order to improve posture. Cutting edge virtual reality goggles, providing 360 degree real life stimulation, are used to display visual stimuli for oculomotor training and cognitive stimulation. The aim is to initiate and stimulate the process of neuroplasticity, and in turn vestibular compensation.
The Motor Coordination Retraining™ module is designed so that the level of difficulty can be adjusted by the health care professional, as the patient's skills improve throughout the training process.
