Monthly Review - We Laud You!?

Share:

Laud means to 'extol or praise', but exactly how do I use this word in a sentence to thank you for being a part of AudiologyOnline?

Speaking of laud, earlier this month we heard from many of you about our important "news" item that the word laud was being removed from the NU-6 list. Some of you had suggested the entire list be updated, with "die, kill, pew and mew" among the items needing to be scratched along with 'laud'. Much to our surprise, we even learned of a new website created in response, www.savethewordlaud.com!

In addition to having the world's foremost experts publishing and presenting on AudiologyOnline, it's our readers and viewers who get us out of our proverbial beds each day and make us all look forward to coming to work here. Thanks for reading, viewing and playing along with our April Fool's Day fun.

We laud our expert contributors, too! Our latest CE content includes:

20Q: Hearing Aid Features - The Continuing Search for Patient Benefit
Drs. Gus Mueller & Ruth Bentler discuss three key hearing aid features: directionality, noise reduction, and frequency lowering, and the evidence behind the real and potential patient benefits. Dr. Mueller will be managing a new 20Q article each month (next month: cochlear implants with Dr. Rene Gifford!). What a fun and engaging way to learn and earn CEUs.

Revision Cochlear Implantation
R. Mark Wiet, M.D., & Krystine Mullins, Au.D. from the Ear Institute of Chicago discuss the reasons for revision cochlear implantation and review case studies in this CE transcript of their live presentation.

From Cairo to Audiology: Seizing the Future!
David Smriga from AuDNet makes the case for the change needed to make audiology a household name with a look to the recent events in Cairo in this CE article.

Our CEU Total Access program enables you to earn CEs from these articles and all of our courses for just $99/year. Sign up online or over the phone with the AO Customer Service team (aka the 'dynamic duo' of Deb & Ronaldo!) at: 800-753-2160.

Interviews

Our latest round of interviews includes speaking with Bharti Katbamna about her audiology volunteer experience in India with Smile Train, talking with Cindy Beyer about the benefits of joining a network and/or buying group, and speaking with George Cire about new advancements in Cochlear's Baha system.

News

As always this time of year, there are many, many new products and initiatives launching throughout the industry. To help you stay informed we've included the latest news, interviews and Ask the Expert questions over to the right.

Best regards,
