Monthly Review - Tired of Listening To Me?

Share:

Well, hello there! I wanted to start off the new year saying "Thanks" to all of you, our amazing subscribers who continue to make AudiologyOnline great! We had another record setting year with approximately 48,000 continuing education course completions in 2011! Our courses were not the only reason you came to the site as we worked very hard to provide the best articles, news, ATEs and interviews in our Journal in addition to having our comprehensive Career Center. All told, you consumed 5.6 million page views of information on our site last year alone. Thanks for your support and we will continue to work every day to deliver the best information and continuing education for you in 2012.

All of that said, are you tired of listening to me? My wife says that I think I am the funniest person I know, so I've been known to "wear her out" and "get on her last nerve". When we think about our patients, do we ever talk to them about how exhausted they may be as they struggle to listen and understand on a daily basis?

This is the topic of our January 20Q brought to you by Contributing Editor Gus Mueller, and featuring Dr. Ben Hornsby from Vanderbilt. Yes, you can become physically fatigued after having to focus all day due to a hearing impairment;and even better news, hearing aid technology can help!

Hope that your 2012 is shaping up great so far. Please do peruse the latest Interviews, News and Ask the Expert questions over in the right hand column.

Best regards,

Paul Dybala, Ph.D.
President, AudiologyOnline
