Monthly Review - Spring Showcase

I hope this newsletter finds you well.  I have finally recovered from my time change “hangover” and wanted to tell you about some of the latest happenings on AO.

New Products

Did you notice that many leading manufacturers released new products this quarter?  I was really surprised as I have been used to waiting for the unveilings at AudiologyNOW!  When I asked an industry executive about this new trend, the person told me that when new products are ready, it makes sense to make them available to the market immediately, rather than wait for a future date.  Get trained on fitting and programming these new products and earn CEUs at the same time on AudiologyOnline - search our library by product or company name to find courses of interest. Join me as I learn more about the companies, people and stories behind the new products in our latest Interviews.

Dr. Jay Hall on Hyperacusis and Sound Tolerance Issues

This month’s 20Q with Gus Mueller takes a complicated topic - sound tolerance issues - and provides a practical, straightforward discussion on assessment and treatment. I wholeheartedly agree with the 5 out of 5 star rating you have given it (see Reviews) and recommend it to those of you who haven’t yet read it.

Speaking of Dr. Hall, he is organizing a series of webinars on current electrophysiology topics that will be on AudiologyOnline in June.  Stay tuned for more info!

Live Webinars

March has seen unprecedented attendance for our live webinars - thank you and it’s been great to “see you!”. Nearly 200 of us tuned in to hear Dr. Rebekah Cunningham provide an info-packed hour on the latest on auditory processing disorders (catch the recorded course), and we are thrilled to have back Janet DesGeorges from Hands and Voices to talk about how and why we need to manage services for children with hearing loss - you can register here.  We finish off the month with Dr. Don Schum’s course on the distortional aspect of sensorineural hearing loss. Hope you can join us.

Licensure Renewal

We know that many states have specific courses - infection control, ethics, medical errors and others - needed for renewal of audiology and hearing aid licenses.  Thanks to CEU Administrator extraordinaire Dr. Joanne Slater, we keep up to date on the regulations to try and bring you the courses you need, online, available at your convenience.  Browse the library by topic or feel free to call or email us if you have questions.

SculptureFlower Power

Thanks as always for reading and for your support, and Happy Spring to you all. Thanks also to AudiologyOnline Continuing Education Manager Melissa Freund, who recently attended a flower show, and brought me back this lovely bonnet, that you may see me sporting in Anaheim.

Best Regards,
