Spring is upon us, which means a lot of industry news including here at AudiologyOnline!

New President of AudiologyOnline

I'm excited to tell you that we've appointed a new president of AudiologyOnline, Rachelle Butts. Rachelle hails from Michigan, where she recently served as Managing Director for the Dorsey Schools, an accredited career college specializing in the medical field. She holds an MBA from Madonna University, a BA from Eastern Michigan University, and a diploma from L'Université de la Sorbonne et l'Université de Paris IV. She is responsible for overseeing our day-to-day operations as well as providing strategic direction for AudiologyOnline and our website program, AudiologyDesign. If you met Rachelle at AudiologyNOW! in Boston, you'll agree that she is a great complement to our team.

I've moved into the role of Chief Web Officer for AudiologyOnline. I'm responsible for our Web presence including site design, usability, site upgrades, workflow, information data/architecture, analytics, intranet, social media, security, etc. I've always said that working at AudiologyOnline combines my two professional interests - audiology and the Internet. Now I get to delve even deeper into the Internet part of that to help ensure our site is the best it can be. As a result, our Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Carolyn Smaka will be taking over this newsletter to highlight the site's content that we bring to you each month.

Latest Features

Speaking of delving into the details, anyone fitting hearing aids should check out our latest feature articles.

In this month's 20Q, Dr. Gus Mueller has invited Dr. Earl Johnson to discuss the details of the new NAL-NL2 and DSL v5.0 prescriptions. It is a great summary of their similarities, differences, and how they differ from the previous versions.

Ole Hau and Hanne Pernille Andersen from Widex Denmark look at some parameters of compression and how they affect sound quality in this study.

As always, these articles, as well as most articles on our site, are offered for CEUs through our CEU Total Access program - check out the full library.

We've included recent key interviews, ask the expert, and news items for you over to the right. As always, thanks for reading.

Cheers,

Paul Dybala, Ph.D.
Chief Web Officer, AudiologyOnline

P.S. Feel free to join me in welcoming Rachelle by sending her an email at: rbutts@audiologyonline.com
