Monthly Review - As You Like It

Share:

Are you a visual, auditory or kinesthetic learner? Do you like to skim the main points and read the details later or do you prefer to sit down, shut out the world, and give something your full attention for the hour?

At AudiologyOnline, we offer our CE courses in a variety of formats. We have live seminars each Wednesday from 12 - 1pm EST (9 - 10 Pacific), recorded seminars (these are recordings of actual live seminars) and we also have CE articles. Each course type has different benefits. With live courses, you can ask questions, make comments and participate in polls or surveys the presenter may include. Recorded courses are available 24/7, from anywhere you are with a high speed internet connection. CE articles (also known as text courses) are also available 24/7. You can read them at your leisure, all at once or bit-by-bit as your schedule allows, or even on the go. If you're a CEU Total Access member, you can earn unlimited CEUs from courses in any or all of these formats as your style, schedule and taste dictate for only $99/year.

This year, by request, we'll be offering more CE articles, while continuing to bring you all the live and recorded courses, too.

Here are this month's CE articles:

Otoacoustic Emissions: Beyond Newborn Hearing Screening
Dr. Rebekah Cunningham discusses OAE basics and how they are being used in a variety of ways in the clinic today.

How to Grow and Prosper, Part 2: Strengthening the Roots and Expanding the Branches
Dr. Markus Hilbert from Ear Works Inc. talks about how paying attention to some key areas of a business' foundation - such as workflow and a website - can help to set the stage for future development and expansion.

Prioritizing and Planning in Your Practice
Dr. Brian Taylor from Unitron examines the six mistakes that slow productivity in a business, and how use of a simple exercise can help business owners make improvements in his practical and informative article.

Bilateral Cochlear Implants
Robert Battista, M.D. and Kathleen Highhouse, Au.D., from the Ear Institute of Chicago LLC, team up in this article that looks at various aspects of bilateral cochlear implants, from surgical to counseling considerations, and interesting case studies are included.

I'm thinking of a person who will be managing a new, monthly CE feature on AudiologyOnline...

I'm excited to announce a new monthly CE feature on AudiologyOnline beginning in April entitled '20Q with Gus Mueller'. The "Q" stands for questions and in this feature, Dr. Mueller will be examining the latest topics in audiology and hearing science with other leading experts in the field. Look for timely informative content in a fun and engaging format as he digs deep into some of the clinical and research issues facing audiologists today, and gives us practical take away nuggets as well.

Keeping up

It's exciting to be part of an industry that's constantly changing with new technology, new companies and new people. How does one keep up? Check out our latest round of interviews to learn about what audifon offers, CounselEAR's online report writer and how it can help your business, clinical research at Oticon Medical, and Beltone's recent success at the Consumer Electronics Show.

Thank you!

As always, thank you for reading and for your participation. To help you stay informed we've included the latest industry news, interviews and Ask the Expert questions over to the right.

Cheers,

Paul Dybala, Ph.D.
President, AudiologyOnline
