Jackson Hole, WY. A new conference entitled Managing Hearing Loss in Children sponsored by St. John's Medical Center Foundation will be held September 24, 2010 at Hotel Terra in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
The conference is intended for individuals involved in the care, management and education of children with hearing impairment including: audiologists, speech-language pathologists, teachers, LSLS (listening and spoken language specialist), administrators, physicians, and parents. Topics include: selecting appropriate tests for the evaluation of hearing in children;identifying children who are not adequately benefiting from amplification;guiding and coaching parents;language facilitation techniques;developing self-advocacy skills;and considerations for the acoustic environment.
The renowned conference faculty covers a broad range of expertise and experience, from clinical and educational audiology, to research, to otolarnyngology. Featured presenters are: Jane R. Madell, Ph.D.;Nancy Caleffe-Schenck, M.Ed.;Karen Anderson, Ph.D.;Martin S. Trott, MD, FACS;and Berte Hirschfield, MSE. In addition to the scheduled presentations, the agenda includes a panel discussion as well as time for attendees to network and share insight.
