Lowder, Price to Lead AFA

West Lafayette, IN - Ken Lowder, AuD, was re-elected to the chair position of the Audiology Foundation of America at the Board of Directors' meeting held July 20th in Chicago. Dr. Lowder has served as chair of the AFA for the past two years and held the position of Vice Chair from 1998-2000.
Lowder entered the audiology profession in 1981, establishing a private practice in Coralville, Iowa. He has served twice as the president of the Iowa Association of Hearing Health Professionals and is the current chair of the Iowa Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology Examiners. He received his AuD degree in June 2000 and was in the first class of distance learning students to graduate from the University of Florida with the AuD degree.
AFA's new Vice Chair is Deborah Price, AuD, who practices in Dallas, Texas. One of the first audiologists to earn the Doctor of Audiology degree, she has been in private practice since 1983. Dr. Price is nationally recognized as an expert at fitting and dispensing hearing aids and travels nationwide to train other professionals in the latest technologies and procedures.
AFA Secretary Mike Hartman, AuD, of Davenport, Iowa, and Treasurer Rich Burba, MBA, of Chicago, will continue in their roles on the Board.
