MINNEAPOLIS (July 11, 2016) — Starkey Hearing Technologies is excited to announce a new webinar series for hearing care professionals that examines innovative trends in hearing science research, and its current and future applications to clinical care.
The program includes three, one-hour live webinars on AudiologyOnline, beginning in August 2016. The schedule, presenters and topics include:
- Tuesday, August 16, 2016: Listening Into the Future, presented by Simon Carlile, PhD
This presentation will discuss advances in cognitive neuroscience combined with the game-changing impact of digital technologies, and how they may inform the way we address challenges with hearing both now and in the future.
- Tuesday, September 13, 2016: Do Cognitive Assessments Belong in the Audiology Clinic?, presented by Jason Galster, PhD
This presentation will review results of a study that support an opportunity to use measures of cognitive ability to predict a patient’s performance in challenging listening situations, and its implications for technology use and counseling.
- Tuesday, October 4, 2016: Mobile Apps and the Listening Experience, presented by Chris Howes
A review of the current state of mobile apps that have been designed and developed to enhance the listening experience, and a discussion of the future uses of apps in hearing care.
All webinars will take place from 12 – 1pm EDT. The courses are free to view, and offered for continuing education through the AudiologyOnline CEU Total Access program.
