Leadership Opportunities for Teens (LOFT)

LOFT, sponsored by Phonic Ear, is a four-day leadership workshop designed for teens with hearing loss entering grades 9-12 who use spoken communication as their primary mode of communication. Teens will have the opportunity to participate in group and individual activities, explore models of leadership, and develop new skills in areas such as self-advocacy and self-esteem, team-building and conflict resolution. They will also network with members of AG Bell's Deaf and Hard of Hearing Section (DHHS), learn about the latest hearing technology, develop new friendships and much more. The LOFT program, which is celebrating its 10th year, will be held Tuesday, June 20, to Saturday, June 24, 2006, just prior to the AG Bell 2006 Convention in Pittsburgh, Pa. Breakfast, lunch and two dinners will be provided as part of the program.
Communications Access Realtime Translation (CART) will be provided for during the program sessions.

AG Bell will be accepting a maximum of 20 applications.
Registration
The registration fee is $250.00. Participants are responsible for airfare, lodging and expenses for dinner for two nights.

Rooms are $129.00 per night excluding tax for double occupancy; however, program participants will be sharing a rooom at a cost of $65.00 per night.
