We have a great year-end line up planned at AudiologyOnline! November and December are the busiest months for earning CEUs, so we are adding new content in a variety of topic areas.
New 20Q! Auditory Brainstem Implants
Our last 20Q with Gus Mueller article for 2015 features Dr. Bill Shapiro from New York University discussing auditory brainstem implants (ABI) - view the article here. Not only does Dr. Shapiro provide a great overview of this emerging area, he also shares preliminary findings from FDA-approved feasibility studies with the pediatric population. I have a hard time keeping all the new medical solutions and implants straight, and I found this article to be refreshingly clear in that regard. Thanks to Dr. Shapiro for his time and expertise and hats off to Dr. Mueller for another great year of 20Q. Catch up on any you may have missed - here's the link to the entire 20Q collection.
Fall Focus - Pediatrics (When an "Excellent" Rating is Not Enough)
Our fall pediatrics series continues! The latest offerings include a recording by Dr. Deborah Hayes on the cross-check principle, which was also the topic of her 20Q last month, as well as a new course on ototoxicity monitoring in children. I have so enjoyed these pediatric courses. The clinically-focused information makes it easy to apply to daily practice, and the enthusiasm and passion of these expert pediatric audiologist presenters shines through the courses. See the new pediatric courses here. Here are a few of my favorite comments from your course evaluations:
"Why does this rating scale stop at excellent? Seriously, the information in this course is going to improve management of at least a quarter of my caseload."
"Five stars! This course was extremely relevant to my job as an educational audiologist."
"I can apply this to conversations with families and give real data - loved all the history of the research, too."
