Eden Prairie, Minn.—May 2, 2005—The Starkey Hearing Foundation today announced the successful completion of a three-day mission trip to Guadalajara, Mexico, that resulted in more than 700 needy children receiving more than 1,000 hearing aids. The mission trip was co-sponsored by Fort Worth, Texas-based Jones Audiology and Hearing Aid Centers and Palm Springs, Calif.-based Hearing Aid Healthcare Services, distributors of hearing aids and hearing services.

"This was an indescribable experience," said Ray Jones, owner of Jones Audiology and Hearing Aid Centers. "My wife and I have supported and participated in several other Starkey Hearing Foundation mission trips, and each time I leave feeling so blessed to have been a part of it. Bringing the gift of hearing to impoverished children always brings new meaning and motivation to me."

"I'm honored to have sponsored this mission trip to Guadalajara and to have helped so many children hear again or hear for the very first time," said Howard Hait, owner of Hearing Aid Healthcare Services, who has also sponsored and participated in previous Starkey Hearing Foundation mission trip. "Every time my wife and I participate in a hearing mission, we find the experience incredibly rewarding."

Jones Audiology and Hearing Aid Centers and Hearing Aid Healthcare Services together won the opportunity to co-sponsor the Guadalajara mission trip for the Starkey Hearing Foundation at the Foundation's 2004 Annual So the World May Hear Gala, held in Saint Paul, Minn. The two companies pledged a total of $70,000 to support the mission trip.
