Seasoned Professional and Deaf Community Advocate Assumes Top Post at the Nation's Leading Wireless Service Provider for People with Hearing Loss
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA— Wynd Communications, (a GoAmerica, Inc. company: NASDAQ: GOAM), the nation's leading wireless communications service provider for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, today announced the promotion and appointment of Jerry Nelson to the top management post for Wynd. With the title of Vice President and General Manager, Nelson's role at Wynd expands to include responsibility for all of Wynd's day-to-day operations, including sales and customer care.
Nelson was chosen and appointed by Daniel R. Luis and this announcement follows earlier news of Luis' appointment to the position of president and chief operating officer of Wynd's parent company, GoAmerica, Inc. Luis was instrumental in Wynd's 1994 founding, and served as president and chief executive officer since 1998. Wynd was acquired by GoAmerica in June of 2000.

Mr. Nelson brings over 25 years of experience in management, consultation, and advocacy including extensive experience in executive management within the corporate, public, and non-profit sectors. Nelson joined Wynd in 2000 as Vice President at Wynd's metro Washington, DC office, and assumed the role of Vice President of Customer Satisfaction for the entire organization a year later.
Prior to joining Wynd, Nelson was the owner/president of GNB Associates, Inc., a management and technology consulting firm that focused on providing solutions for deaf and hard of hearing people. His past experience includes a senior management position at MCI WorldCom with marketing, operations, and customer service responsibilities for MCI TeleRelay. Nelson was instrumental in MCI's entry in the Telecommunications Relay Service industry. He has also taught business and marketing classes in the School of Management at Gallaudet University, and was the executive director of several non-profit advocacy organizations in Minnesota and Virginia.
Nelson holds a Masters degree in Education Administration and Supervision, California State University - Northridge, and a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Rochester Institute of Technology.
