Kitchener, ON - September 5, 2005 -- Unitron Hearing announced today the appointment of Jörg Backhaus as General Manager, Unitron Hearing Germany. Effective September 5, 2005, Mr. Backhaus will oversee the management and operations of Unitron Hearing's domestic sales, marketing and customer care in Germany.Jörg Backhaus brings his extensive experience in building strong client relationships and customer support programs to Unitron Hearing. He has worked for service-oriented organizations in both the competitive telecommunications industry and in hearing healthcare. As Manager of Product Marketing and Public Business for the largest German telecommunications operator, Mr. Backhaus has a proven track record of successfully introducing and launching new products, and implementing support tools and value-added services to assist clients. Most recently, he held a senior management role at a major hearing manufacturer where he focused his efforts on assessing the needs of German acousticians, launching an effective customer care program, and introducing sales and marketing tools to assist acousticians with building their practice.
Mr. Backhaus, 43, holds an Economics and Marketing degree from the Bergische University. He lives with his wife and two children in Germany.
