Somerset, NJ July 7 - Oticon Pediatrics will include a specially designed GoPack with each of its child-friendly hearing solutions to help parents and youngsters organize and carry their hearing instruments and accessories in style. The zippered 7" x 9" durable nylon GoPack features mesh pockets inside for all of the hearing care accessories typically carried by parents or kids including batteries, battery testers, cleaning supplies, extra earmolds, even an FM device. The GoPack also serves as a secure and convenient on-the-go storage case for hearing instruments for active youngsters. The lightweight, soft-sided GoPack is easy to pack - making it ideal for school, daycare or sports activities.
"We wanted to offer parents and children a safe, attractive carrying case for all of their hearing care needs that didn't look 'therapeutic'," explains Maureen Doty, MA, CCC-A, Marketing Manager for Oticon Pediatrics. "The GoPack has a cool, youthful look that resembles many of the accessory cases kids carry today - we've even included a clip so the GoPack can be attached to a backpack."
The GoPack is the brainchild of Maureen Riski, AuD, of Atlanta, GA, who noticed that when parents came to her office, they often carried hearing aids and supplies in makeshift carriers such as plastic bags. Riski worked with Tanya McConnell, the mother of a hearing impaired child, to create a safer, more convenient and child friendly case than anything she'd seen on the market. "We looked at features of a variety of carrying cases, sketched out our ideas and then produced a number of prototypes before we finally developed one that had the functionality and good looks we thought would appeal to both parents and children."
The GoPack is a unisex light blue to complement other OtiKids materials and will be distributed free of charge with all Oticon hearing aids and FM devices purchased for children.
