Judges Award Near Perfect Scores in Content and Ease of Use

Naerum, DK, September 23 - The 15th annual WebAward competition has honored the Ida Institute with a Standard of Excellence Award in the Non-Profit Category. This is the third year in a row that idainstitute.com has been recognized in the world's premier award competition for web developers and marketers. The multimedia website serves as an international knowledge-sharing and networking hub for professionals in hearing care, healthcare and related disciplines who are seeking to better understand the human dynamics of hearing loss.

Established by the Web Marketing Association in 1997, the WebAwards set standards of excellence for website development. Websites are judged against Internet standards and peer sites within their categories. Award judges gave high scores to idainsitute.com for website content - 9.5 out of 10 - and ease of use, 8.5.

"Through idainstitute.com, we honor our commitment to freely share the knowledge, insights and tools that come out of our collaborative learning seminars and workshops," says Ida Institute Managing Director Lise Lotte Bundesen. "Our goal is to make idainsitute.com a vital and accessible global resource for hearing care professionals and others interested in the human dynamics of hearing loss. Continual updates and innovative content - such as our new e-Learning Laboratory and ethnographic Mirror videos - ensure that the website stays valuable and relevant to clinicians, academicians, students and others who support a paradigm shift to more patient-centered care."

The active engagement and reflection that are hallmarks of the Institute's innovative learning approach are evident throughout the website's Tool Room and recently enhanced and expanded Ida Forum. The interactive Ida Forum has been extremely successful in engaging professionals from across the globe in discussion of special interest areas. "The Forums have proven especially valuable for hearing care professionals who feel isolated and now have an opportunity to get expert advice and share experiences with professionals from around the world," states Bundesen. The Ida Forum has recently been redesigned to improve usability and overall functionality, making it even easier for members of Ida's global online community to share knowledge and discuss topics.

Additional features of idainstitute.com include Ida's e-Learning Laboratory, an online educational portal that guide e-learners through a series of active learning experiences ncluding virtual client consultations n life-like clinical settings. Ethnographic videos, mirror exercises and reflective journaling provide an opportunity for practitioners to experience the Ida tools in a context that enables them to reflect on their own patterns of behavior, facilitate desired patient-centered changes in their clinical routines and earn continuing education credits.
