October is Audiology Awareness Month. Check out resources from professional associations to promote these initiatives in your community, as well as our superpower graphic that you can find and share from our Facebook page. We've kicked off the month with a great new 20Q from Dr. Jace Wolfe on ABR assessment in infants, and a webinar series presented in partnership with the National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research. Here's an overview of the full line-up.
20Q: ABR Assessment in Infants—Protocols and Standards
Jace Wolfe, PhD |
This month's 20Q with Gus Mueller features Dr. Jace Wolfe discussing evidence-based ABR assessment of infants and young children. Lest you mistakenly assume there is nothing new in this area, here is a line from the article that grabbed my attention: "The unfortunate truth is that almost everyone has been performing these tests sub-optimally and, unfortunately, many unknowingly still do." And if 20 questions do not seem nearly enough to cover a topic about which whole textbooks have been written, not to worry as Dr. Mueller has brought back Dr. Wolfe for another go with our Question Man in November to continue the conversation.

Hearing Aid Month - Recordings Now Available
Thank you to Dr. Gus Mueller, Dr. Catherine Palmer, and all of our presenters and industry partners for their contributions to September's Hearing Aid Month. It was a great month with many AudiologyOnline firsts - we had first time presenters, new topics and our first-ever industry roundtable where leading manufacturers presented the evidence behind some of their key features. One of the viewers had the following comment in her course evaluation, "This was one of the best AudiologyOnline courses that I have ever participated in....It was a succinct, complete, "all in one place" review of state-of-the art technology. Thank you." All September course recordings are now available.
With the European hearing industry congress taking place this month, be sure to check out our Video Spotlights, Interviews and News for info about new products and programs. And as always, thanks for reading.
Cheers,
Carolyn
