Watching
When my 13-year-old recently told me some of his friends were going to the Warped Tour, the mother and audiologist in me made some instinctive remark about protecting their hearing. This, of course, was met with eye rolling and a large groan from my teen.
How do we, as audiologists, follow evidence-based practice and effectively educate our patients, children and the general public about noise? We can all start by tuning in to the 6th annual noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) webinar series on AudiologyOnline, organized by guest editor Dr. Brian Fligor. This year, topics will include acceptable strategies for NIHL prevention, tinnitus assessment in musicians, nutrition and noise, and using free radical scavengers to prevent hearing loss.
