HLAA Announces a $50,000 Matching Challenge

Share:

The Most Powerful Contribution You May Ever Make − Respond Today, Double Your Impact!

An anonymous long-time HLAA supporter − who shares your passion for our mission, to open the world of communication to people with hearing loss − has offered a very special opportunity − one that significantly increases the power and impact of your contribution dollars that will help strengthen HLAA’s advocacy, programming, outreach, and public awareness campaign to help consumers with hearing loss.

This opportunity comes to us in the form of a $50,000 MATCHING CHALLENGE GRANT that will match dollar for dollar funds raised for HLAA’s spring appeal. This is a great opportunity for HLAA – but we need your financial support to reach this $50,000 goal.

We hope that we can count on you to make a special contribution to HLAA today − knowing that the value of your gift will be doubled by this generous matching challenge grant. If you can stretch your giving, at any level, and increase your support −the impact of your gift will increase as well!

This great opportunity comes at a particularly poignant time – HLAA’s executive director, Brenda Battat, will be retiring at the end of July after 24 incredible years at HLAA, the last 5 years as executive director. Battat stated, “It has been an honor and a privilege to be a part of the HLAA family, and I thank you for your support. Your gift is the best retirement gift I could receive − I know I can count on you to meet the challenge!”

Thanks to generous supporters like you, Battat leaves HLAA well-positioned as:

  • a strong and well respected national organization for people with hearing loss
  • a force to be reckoned with on Capitol Hill and before federal and state regulatory agencies
  • the leading source for information on technology, regulations, employment, and support
  • producing the largest trade show − with state-of-the-art education, training workshops and seminars − for consumers at our annual convention
  • the leader in raising public awareness through our 22 National Walk4Hearing events
  • a grassroots organization with over 200 local chapters and 14 state organizations
  • a financially sound organization that has been awarded the GuideStar Exchange Seal for our commitment to transparency

HLAA Remains Committed to Accessible and Affordable Hearing Health Care Along with Consumer Choice in the Marketplace

Today, advanced hearing assistive technology, cochlear implants, looping, captioning, Bluetooth and other technologies have removed many barriers and improved the quality of life for consumers with hearing loss. And thanks to our supporters, HLAA has many achievements that we can be proud of - but we have a lot of work ahead of us.

With aging baby boomers, one-in-four teens with a hearing loss, millions of recent veterans returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan with a hearing loss, and people living longer, the number of people with hearing loss will increase dramatically over the next decades − well beyond the current 48 million Americans already identified by research conducted by Johns Hopkins.

This Matching Challenge Grant Will Double Your Impact When You Make a Donation to HLAA Today!
