HIMSA has received reports of a reoccurring issue with NOAHlinks at the first of the year where the paired connection to the NOAHlink is lost. HIMSA has investigated this issue and feels that the cause lies in the Widcomm Bluetooth Stack. HIMSA intends to switch the default install of NOAHlink to use the Microsoft Bluetooth stack early in 2010 and we anticipate that this will correct the issue.
HIMSA wishes to remind audiologists of this potential issue after January 1st 2010 where NOAHlink may lose its paired connection to Bluetooth. It is recommended to test the NOAHlink BEFORE the first patient fitting in January. Typically you will be presented with the opportunity to enter the NOAHlink PIN code 1234 and reestablish the NOAHlink Bluetooth connection.
If you wish to avoid the problem you also can switch from the Widcomm Bluetooth stack to the Microsoft stack before the first of the year.
