The Hearing Instrument Manufacturers' Software Association (HIMSA) has put together this list of the five most important support tips for HIMSA products, based on support calls received throughout 2008.
- NOAH 3.6.1 on Windows Vista. If your computer runs Microsoft Windows Vista, remember to install NOAH System version 3.6.1. Previous versions of NOAH System are not Vista compatible and will not install and operate correctly. You should also check under NOAH 3 Certified Modules on www.himsa.com to ensure that your NOAH modules are all certified for Vista.
- Latest NOAHlink Properties on Windows Vista. Likewise, if your computer runs Microsoft Windows Vista, you must use the NOAHlink Properties program version 1.54.01 or later in order to install your NOAHlink successfully. If your NOAHlink installation CD contains an earlier version, please download the latest NOAHlink Properties program from our website. Visit www.himsa.com and click on download>NOAHlink Updates and Patches.
- Watch out for 64 bit operating systems NOAH System 3 is not made to run on 64-bit operating systems. So before you purchase a computer, make sure it is running a 32-bit operating system.
- When upgrading NOAH, don't uninstall. Don't uninstall your NOAH System before upgrading. If you uninstall, you will lose your NOAH settings and preferences. The NOAH System 3.6.1 upgrade provides hassle-free installation over your current NOAH System installation.
- NOAH compatible equipment. Before purchasing audiological equipment such as audiometers, it is a good idea to check our list of NOAH compatible audiometers on www.himsa.com (under Products>Compatible Audiological Equipment). It's also a good idea to check the last column to check if the equipment uses NOAH certified software.
