HIA is partnering with the Michigan AG Bell, HLAA and IHS chapters to host a dinner event for Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) in East Lansing on Friday, September 3. The Michigan chapters have hosted very successful events for Reps Dave Camp (Midland) and Vern Ehlers (Grand Rapids), and local volunteers are again working to develop a great program. Similar Congressional events in CA, MD, NV, PA, TX and WI have been extremely effective in demonstrating the importance of the Hearing Aid Tax Credit to local voters, and a large turn-out is a key element of each program. For example, the event last Friday in Sugar Land TX for Rep Pete Olson (R-TX) attracted 120 people, and the Congressman is eager to champion HR1646 when he returns to Washington.

Your help is needed to attract an impressive crowd! Please contact your audiologist/dispenser customers or any employees in Michigan to encourage them to attend and ideally to invite their patients/clients to attend as well. You can send the attached invitation for further distribution, and we can also supply as many printed invites as necessary for distribution in professional offices and in other places.
