Phonak is excited to announce that the latest of its acclaimed series of pediatric conferences, taking place in Istanbul, Turkey November 14-15 has just been enriched by another world renowned speaker. Adjunct Prof. Dillon is the Director of the National Acoustic Laboratories (NAL) in Sydney, Australia. He will be speaking on the application of cortical auditory evoked responses (CAEPs) in the evaluation of hearing aid effectiveness in young babies. CAEPs are neural responses, generated in the cortex in response to auditory signals. CAEPs provide a useful measurement tool to evaluate the perception of sound by infants wearing hearing aids or cochlear implants. The cortical response can confirm that the stimulus sound has been detected. This method is advantageous as behavioral testing is not required, though the infant must be in a calm, awake state. It can also show parents the benefit that the hearing aids and cochlear implants are providing to their child.
In Istanbul, Prof. John Bamford, the conference chair, and the Phonak Pediatric Advisory Board have put together a program with an impressive panel of 18 internationally acclaimed experts. They will present their latest research and clinical experiences during the two day event. Find more information or book one of the last seats available on: www.phonak.com/conference.
