Attendees Will Experience Revolutionary ICS Impulse First Hand and Learn the Essentials of Assessing All Six Semicircular Canals.

Schaumburg, IL - June 03, 2013 – GN Otometrics, the world leader in hearing and balance diagnostic systems, announced today that it has launched a one-of-a-kind seminar series that features the groundbreaking video head impulse testing (vHIT) technology found only in ICS Impulse.  Attendees are encouraged to register early for a seminar in a city near them, as space is limited and in high-demand. “We are pleased to offer this exciting new seminar that will introduce attendees to a whole new world of vestibular assessment,” said Wendy Crumley-Welsh, product manager at Otometrics. “ICS Impulse is a revolutionary advance in video head impulse testing and this seminar will demonstrate how it can dramatically affect diagnosis, treatment and patient care.”

ICS Impulse

The Revolutionize Vestibular Assessment Seminar series is the most recent in a long line of continuing education opportunities developed and offered by Otometrics. The company has an unmatched dedication to continuing education and has led the industry with its level of commitment for many years.  The seminar will discuss the evaluation of all five end organs (semicircular canals, saccule and utricle) of the vestibular system and address why this information assists practitioners in diagnosis, treatment and measurement of treatment effectiveness.   Additionally, the attendees of this course will be among the first to experience the technology behind the ICS Impulse video head impulse testing.

An industry first, ICS Impulse can assess and document the vestibular function in all six semicircular canals in less than ten minutes, from patient entry to reporting. The ICS Impulse offers many benefits for physicians and clinicians in determining if the patient’s symptoms are caused by a central or peripheral disorder. Crumley adds, “This quick, easy test is the only one that can assess the anterior and posterior semicircular canals.  Including Impulse in your workflow increases diagnostic efficiency and accuracy.”

The first Revolutionize Vestibular Assessment Seminar will be held on June 20, 2013 at Columbia University in New York City.  Future courses will be held in San Francisco and Boston in September, and Phoenix and Denver in October.  Featured speakers include Jorge Kattah, M.D., Kristen Janky, Ph.D., Faith Akin, Ph.D and Owen Murnane, Ph.D.  Registration information can be found at www.otometrics.com/impulse.

For a more in-depth training, Otometrics is also offering a 3-day information-intensive VNG Course in Chicago this October that will be facilitated by Kamran Barin, Ph.D., designed to provide practical information necessary to make the VNG/ENG test an effective part of the diagnostic process. More information is available at www.otometrics.com/vngcourse. In addition, Otometrics is also offering online training, including the ICS Impulse – Revolutionizing Vestibular Assessment course facilitated by Wendy Crumley-Welsh, that will be available soon at the Otometrics Web Channel on AudiologyOnline.
