Company Adds Financial Director and Assistant Controller.

Schaumburg, IL. - January 16, 2013 – GN Otometrics, the world leader in hearing and balance diagnostic systems, announced today that, in response to overall company growth, it has expanded its financial team with two key hires.  Scott Brewer joined the company in the newly-created position of financial director and Ginger Sharp is the new assistant controller.  Brewer will report directly to Uffe Bjerg, vice president of GN Otometrics North America.  Sharp will report to Brewer, as will the rest of the finance department.

“We are growing rapidly, due to our strong product launches and new distribution model.  As a result, we have been adding key staff to support and sustain that growth pattern,” said Bjerg. “Scott and Ginger are important and substantial additions to our finance team.  Each brings exceptional experience and leadership that will be essential to our ongoing success.”

Scott Brewer

A multilingual American who built his career in Denmark, Brewer relocated to the United States to join the Otometrics team.  He joined Otometrics from an Internet start-up, where he most recently designed and implemented a unique consumer retail Web site.  Under his leadership, the company experienced growth of consistently more than 100% for four consecutive years.  Prior to that, Brewer was finance and logistics manager for Isabella Smith, an online lifestyle retailer.  In his time there, the company met budget goals for the first time in five years.  Brewer joined Isabella Smith from Arthur Andersen, the worldwide consulting firm, where he progressed steadily from his role of enterprise resource planning (ERP) specialist to become business process operations manager and worked with high-profile clients such as Maersk and Carlserg.  Prior to his time at Arthur Andersen, Brewer held positions of increasing responsibility in notable organizations such as DHL, IBM and Raytheon Marine Sales and Service.

Brewer earned both his master of science degree in business economics and audit sciences and his bachelor of science in economics from the Copenhagen School of Business.  He is a native English speaker who is fluent in Danish, Norwegian and Swedish and is conversant in Spanish, German and French. “I am very happy to join the Otometrics team,” said Brewer.  “It is an ideal opportunity, both professionally and personally.  I’m looking forward to contributing to the company’s financial management during this exciting growth period.”

 Isabella Smith

Sharp joined Otometrics from Waste Management, where she most recently held the position of accountant I.  During her 20-year tenure with the company, she progressed steadily through the organization and held positions of increasing responsibility.  As controller, she played an integral role in the company’s growth and eventual transition from Land and Lakes Disposal Services to Waste Management. She earned her bachelor of science degree from the University of Illinois.  She is a certified public accountant in the state of Illinois.

“Both Scott and Ginger are seasoned professionals and will make substantial contributions to Otometrics,” continued Bjerg.  “We are pleased to have them onboard.”
