Industry's Gold Standard in Fitting Systems Now Features openREM

Schaumberg, Ill., March 28, 2005 - GN Otometrics, the world leader in hearing and balance diagnostic systems, is debuting AURICAL™ Plus, an updated and enhanced version of its popular MADSEN Aurical, at the American Academy of Audiology's (AAA) 17th annual convention and expo, in Washington, D.C. AURICAL Plus now has the capability of performing openREM and also includes a comprehensive software upgrade.

AURICAL Plus features a probe microphone system that performs accurate real ear measurements (REM) during the fitting process. It is designed to aid dispensing audiologists in fitting open-fitting, non-occluding hearing instruments that are rapidly gaining popularity among the patient population and which represent a significant business growth opportunity.

Its comprehensive software upgrade provides AURICAL Plus users with a print layout designer that allows tympanometry test results and diagnostic audiometry to be printed on the same page. The complete fitting process - from clinical audiometry through real ear to hearing instrument testing, fitting and verification -- has been streamlined and accelerated.

AURICAL Plus will be available in June of this year. Existing customers can upgrade their current Aurical systems by purchasing an upgrade package. New customers can purchase the complete system.
