Schaumburg, ILL., August 14, 2012 - GN Otometrics, the world leader in hearing and balance diagnostic systems, announced today that its new AURICAL HIT (test chamber) has been approved for sale in Canada. AURICAL HIT is the newest addition to the new AURICAL family he world's only complete, modular fitting solution. In addition to AURICAL HIT, AURICAL includes an audiometer, a wireless PMM unit, a loudspeaker and the OTOsuite software.
AURICAL HIT, along with the entire AURICAL family, will be featured at different tradeshows throughout the US. AURICAL, along with MADSEN and ICS products, are now available exclusively through Audiology Systems Inc. and Otometrics partner distributors in the US.
"AURICAL HIT is an exciting, leading-edge addition to the AURICAL family," said Uffe Bjerg, Vice President of Otometrics US. "It is uniquely user-friendly and intuitive. We talked extensively with our customers about their needs and designed AURICAL HIT to adapt to the way our customers work, and not the other way around. We believe it is the future of fitting."
Because of its innovative vertical design, AURICAL HIT has the smallest footprint of any directionality-enabled test chamber. It is also very portable. It features OnePosition, a unique method of placing hearing instruments so all measurements can be conducted without repositioning the hearing instrument for directionality or induction coil measurements. AURICAL HIT allows coupler based fitting with RECDs, pre-programming and pre-fitting without the patient being present. It features test chamber measurements according to IEC and ANSI test standards. AURICAL HIT can operate independently of the other AURICAL components or can be fully integrated into the AURICAL family, through OTOsuite.
"The AURICAL has a fast and thorough REM system that would allow me to move quickly through the fitting process...The speed of this unit is most impressive," said Greg Haines, Advanced Hearing Center. "I can move the lightweight AURICAL anywhere in the office. It's a space-saver and a time-saver."
AURICAL, featuring AURICAL HIT, is intuitive, easy to learn and easy to use. It allows users to work in a single software environment across modules and supports the entire patient journey rom diagnostics and counseling to fitting and verification. The end result is a better overall fitting experience.
